  • African Lily. To 48". Hybrids between A. orientalis, A. Africanus and others; generally evergreen, amaryllis-like foliage forming large clumps. Umbels of bluish to white flowers appear in summer. Grown in the north as a tub plant. Some may winter over with loss of foliage in protected areas of 6b with deep planting and loose winter protection, but are generally more reliable from Zones 7 southward.
