Parsley 'curled'

  • Parsley in its many forms, both leaf and root, is a valuable herb and vegetable which is easy to raise from seed (which requires a week in the freezer for best emergence). Can grow to about 12" with roughly equal spread. Flat and curly-leaved forms are popular, as are turnip rooted cultivars which are used like Parsnips. Parsely is the primary host and food source of the Black Swallowtail butterfly, and since feeding damage rarely decimates a planting, the caterpillars should be allowed to flourish.
  • Hardiness Zone: 5-9
